Virtual PC is a free virtual machine software that you can download from Microsoft and was one of the earliest virtual machine software available, I still remember way way back when I was still starting with intranet computing and virtual machines, Virtual PC then wasn't still a Microsoft product - yes, Virtual PC was bought by Microsoft to compete then with VMWare ... early images for Microsoft Official Curriculum Courses used Virtual PC which eventually moved to Virtual Server and now Hyper-V... Advantages of using Virtual PC? It's easy to install and easy to create virtual machines ... Disadvantages? You can only install Microsoft OS's which means no Linux,BSD,Solaris or GNU Hurd for you... :D You can download Virtual PC 2007 from this link : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=04D26402-3199-48A3-AFA2-2DC0B40A73B6&displaylang=en ...

Installation for Virtual PC is pretty straightforward and easy. And once done with the installation, start the program and then it's time to get down and dirty, time to create a virtual machine that is... and here's how it works ...

Great! Now after installation you can start setting up your little intranet... stay-tuned as we tackle more virtual machines you can use for your intranet and daily computing needs...
