Virtual Server 2005 R2 - Virtual Server 2005 R2 is yet another virtual machine software from Microsoft, it's a little bit hard to install and configure as you would need some requirements like IIS for it to work but the benefits are far too great for you not to invest your time in making it work. So what's good in Virtual Server 2005 R2? You can run Linux OS's in contrast to Virtual PC... and for every advantage there's always and opposite yet sometimes less equal disadvantage - again,it's not easy to install, configure and administer...stay tuned as I show you how to make this baby run ... you can download Virtual
Server 2005 R2 from this link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/bb738033.aspx

We will now start with the installation of Virtual Server 2005 R2. I'm currently running Windows XP thus we'll be installing IIS 6 - one of the pre-requirements that Virtual Server 2005 R2 needs for it to work in Windows XP... Start your engines ... and the lights are now green ...

And now you have the pre-requisites we need to install Virtual Server 2005 R2 ... stay-tuned as we install Virtual Server in the next posts ...
